Chocolate Cake or Jellyroll?

Would you rather have a piece of chocolate cake or a jellyroll? The lucky pattern testers at The Calico Hutch in Hayward Mn didn't have to choose - they got both! Carolyn made a yummy chocolate cake - with crushed Oreos in the middle for the testers of our "Popsicle Sticks" pattern. 

We also tested the pattern at Bear Patch in White Bear Lake and at Grubers in Waite Park. I got lots of great feedback on the pattern instructions, but the best part for me was seeing all of the wonderful color combinations. The lap size uses 2 Jellyrolls/Balipops or 25 fat quarters (including binding) and we had testers try it both ways. Some of them even cleaned out fabric from their stash. Another favorite part of testing patterns is watching how different personalities approach the same project. Which kind of quilter are you?

Rip open that shrink wrap and get those boxes now! Wait a minute - someone has to open the boxes and bag all of the patterns! What were we thinking? Lucky that bagging isn't MY job or I might hop on one of these and run away:

Kirk has been bagging patterns like mad, and he even sent out all of the autoship patterns to shops this week. Glad that he's so efficient! And here are the three winners of the "Pockets to Go pattern:
