Where will your pockets go?

 

What a great feeling to be heading into the home stretch - our four new patterns are almost to the printer! This one is called "Pockets to Go". I keep a square one (6" x 6") next to my sewing machine and a long one fits in my favorite purse. (it is 4" x 12" on the bottom) You can tell this isn't the one from my purse because that would be a can of diet Mountain Dew instead of Dr. Pepper! (even though those are my "granny" reading glasses)

Popsicle Sticks Quilt

There were soooo many great suggestions to name the new pattern that I have been way beyond indecisive - I waited to decide until the last possible moment! But the printer emailed proofs of the pattern covers and I had to pick the new name today. The five winning suggestions are:

This pattern is perfect for using up leftover strips, and it works with new fabric too . . .

What's my name?

 

When I'm working on a new pattern, the hardest part for me is coming up with a fun name for the quilt. Here is one of our new quilt patterns - and it needs a name! During several of my recent test classes we brainstormed names for this quilt, and there were many great suggestions. We chose "Log Jam" and so I threw the list of suggestions away. Yikes - I just found out that there is already a quilt pattern named "Log Jam" so it's back to the drawing board . . . we need a new name! The quilt is made using 2-1/2" strips or fat quarters and it's really fun to sew.

Rectangle Mangle, Corn Maze, French Fries and Short Circuit are just a few of the ideas Derek and I came up with just now - but I bet you could do better! Send me your suggestions and I'll pick 5 comments to win one of these patterns!

P.S. Maybe we should name it after our new puppy - how about Sawyer's Strips?
